A powerful day of hope, healing and community. It brought people together to speak openly about mental health,
A key message of the day was the importance of working together
Speakers highlighted that mental health support needs collaboration between organisations, families, professionals, volunteers and the wider community.
Dr Brown spoke about what a community should look like when it faces mental health challenges. He reminded everyone that a strong community listens, notices when people are struggling and creates safe spaces where people can ask for help.
Derek gave a passionate speech about how mental health should be tackled in Croydon. He praised the work Centre of Change is doing and used his boxing experience to show how discipline, resilience and focus can help people face stress, depression and anxiety.
Diane captured the heart of the event by saying that community is at the centre of everything. Her message was clear: this is about all of us looking after each other.
The stalls brought colour and life to the day. Food stalls, music school stalls and healthy product stalls showed different ways to support better mental health. Stall owners were delighted to take part and contribute to the positive atmosphere.
Fun activities such as face painting, football practice, chess games and boxing experiences added joy and excitement.
By the end, the event had opened important conversations, celebrated community support and shown that when Croydon comes together with compassion, real transformation is possible.
A big thank you to all the organisations, stall holders, speakers, volunteers and community members who took part and helped make this event such a meaningful success. Your support, presence and commitment made a real difference, and together you helped create a powerful moment of hope, connection and transformation for Croydon.
